Mission Statement
At the 1999 North American Division Risk Manaagement Conference, Attorney Mary Logan did some research of some of the most common cases involving our churches today.
1. Sexual misconduct and harassment
2. Accidents/Liability
3. Personal disputes
4. Disgruntled members/Property disputes
5. Violence
6. Church antonomy
7. Insurance
8. Breach of trust
When the General Conference created the Risk Management Department, it was basically concerned with the protection of church properties in case an enemy of the church destroyed the building. As we have changes in society's value have led us down the path of least concern for others and anything sacred.
As a result our priorities are all litigious web and an extreme legislative climate. Unfortunately, our church is not exempt from this downward trend. Thus Adventist Risk Management, the insurance arm of the church, has made provision for the church, as much as possible, to be ready to meet the demands when they arrive.
